A MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT
March 26, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On March 17th the British Columbia government announced a suspension of all in-class learning for all Kindergarten to Grade 12 schools due to COVID-19. Since that announcement, the District has been working to create a continuity of learning plan for SD 51 (Boundary) students.
• During the week of March 30th to April 2nd teachers and other staff will be planning. You will be contacted by your child’s school to discuss how learning may look for your child(ren) in this temporary educational model.
• During the week of April 6th, you and your child(ren) will start to receive the resources and contacts you require to proceed with learning from home.
While it is impossible to replicate the learning that occurs in schools and classrooms each day, we are going to do our best to keep connected with you, keep your child learning and provide you the resources and support to make this time as easy as possible. While it is a stressful time for families, we hope this time will provide an opportunity to engage in learning as a family that includes talking, fun activities, exercise and the outdoors.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child(ren) on this new interim educational journey. In the meantime, stay healthy.
