Dear students and families,

Student voice matters to us. This week our Student Council started our ‘Forums’ project with grade 8s to listen to their perspective asking: What does your ideal school look and feel like? What does GFSS need to improve? What solutions do you have? We also surveyed all grade 10, 11 and 12 students to learn about their experiences this year and their ideas for the future. All of this input will help us know what is urgent at GFSS and where to focus our time and energy from a student’s point of view.

I also strongly encourage parents/guardians/caregivers to participate in this survey. The results are important in identifying and celebrating current strengths, as well as determining where the school needs to focus improvement. The surveys contain standard questions for the entire Province. The survey can be completed electronically and can be accessed on the Internet at this link.

Students in attendance have been given their Summary of Learning Report for semester 1. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
