Dear students and families,
This week was a strong one at GFSS. We are grateful for your support of one another and are optimistic going forward. We are thoughtfully reviewing our response procedures and will be updating them accordingly.
Congratulations to the Ultimate Frisbee teams who were in Surrey/Burnaby last weekend. The Juniors came 2nd in their division and the Seniors came 4th. Great job!
On Thursday, students received their Written Learning Updates (aka Report Cards). As partners in education, we strongly encourage you to review them as a family. Our GFSS Teachers have written very helpful commentary, and I encourage you to please use this opportunity to celebrate and to also critically consider their recommendations and next steps for learning.
This week we said farewell and happy days ahead to Ms. Wall. And in the coming week, we welcome Mr. Durand who will be teaching Math with us for the remainder of the year. Also, this week we welcome UBC’s teacher-candidate: Mr. MacAulay and Teacher, Ms. Benko, who is covering Outdoor Education and some Physical Health Education classes.
