Dear students and families,
The journey through public education is a great one. This week a panel of seven members of the community and staff celebrated our many of our graduates as they creatively presented their passions as part of the process for consideration for SD 51’s District Scholarships. It was a real positive highlight of my year and those of the other panel members as well. It was inspiring to see and hear the stories of the GFSS youth as they strive for personal achievements, overcome challenges, and take real steps towards their goals. I am so excited about the future of our community!
I’d like to also make sure you knew about the 60+ Ultimate Frisbee Jr and Sr students and their coaches who are representing GFSS at the Provincial Tournament this weekend at the coast. Check out the schedule and join in the action here. Go Wolves!
Of note is our Monday guest, ICBC Road Safety Speaker, Ted Swan who will address all our grade 10, 11, 12 students. As more and more of our students obtain driving licences this spring and beyond, we feel that a heightened awareness about road safety is a priority for our students.
Get ready for thrills, laughs, and killer vocals—Little Shop of Horrors is coming to GFSS! Join us for a wildly entertaining journey with a singing plant, quirky characters, and unforgettable music. Don’t miss this student-powered spectacle that’s sure to leave you begging for more (plant food optional)! See our June calendar for times and pricing details.
