Dear students and families,
Our basketball season is well underway, and it’s been energizing to see our Wolves competing with commitment, sportsmanship, and pride. Thank you for supporting our student-athletes from the bleachers and on the road. A special note of appreciation goes to our coaches (Riley, Megan, Jordyn, Jason, Bodhi, Scott, Brandon, Brittany, and Lindsay), who generously give their time, expertise, and care to help students grow both on and off the court. If you’d like to follow schedules, and highlights, I encourage you to visit and follow our Athletics Facebook page. It’s the best place to stay connected to the exciting things happening in school sports. Come on down to GFSS this Saturday for the Sr. Boys Tournament…Wolves tip-off at 10:45.
As we come to the completion of the semester this week, students will be engaging in summative assessments across their courses. These final assessments and activities provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate what they know, understand, and can do after a period of learning. Importantly, they help students reflect on their growth, consolidate key skills, and set goals for what comes next. We encourage families to support healthy routines during this time. Rest, balance, and encouragement go a long way.
Lastly, I want to offer a shout out to the nearly 70, Grade 12 students who completed their Capstone Projects and Presentations this past week. Capstone work represents one of the clearest examples of our purpose as a public school: helping young people apply their learning, articulate their strengths, and step forward with confidence into careers, further education, and community life. Thank you for supporting this milestone event.
