Dear students and families,

GFSS’s got game! This weekend our basketball teams are on the courts in Oliver, Castlegar and here at GFSS. Come by our wolves’ den and cheer on our teams! Click here for more information.

What does your ideal school look and feel like? What does GFSS need to improve? Next week, our Student Council will be visiting classrooms and hosting student forums to listen to what our students have to say about school improvement and their solutions. A student’s perspective and youth advocacy are an important part of our schools’ purpose to nurture and graduate informed and engaged citizens for growing a positive and strong community.

This month, the Student Learning Survey will be administered to students in grades 10-12, their parents/guardians/caregivers, and all school staff. We encourage parents/guardians/caregivers to participate in this survey, as the results are important in identifying and celebrating current strengths, as well as determining where the school needs to focus improvement. The surveys contain standard questions for the entire Province. The survey can be completed electronically and can be accessed on the Internet.
