Dear students and families,

As a public school, one of our core purposes is to develop strong skills of engaged, democratic citizenship in our graduates. On Thursday, our students engaged in a “Student-Vote” after learning about the federal parties and platforms. GFSS is pleased to offer students such realistic simulations and opportunities for practical conversations. For young people, these types of experiences are essential for sustaining a strong and safe community. Are you curious: How do our GFSS’s student body vote results compare with our local riding’s results?

Our PAC has a number of fundraisers going on: Mitchells Soup, Co, Tru Earh, Brightraiser.com. PAC also hosts a silent auction on Saturday from 10am-2pm at Save-On. There is another fundraiser for GFSS athletics featuring various meats (poster attached in the email). Thank you for supporting our students.

Lastly, I wanted to make sure you knew that we are listening to you and consider your consultation essential. “What’s important for you in your child’s education?” We are curious to know what parents/guardians and other caregivers think about what GFSS can do to ensure we are preparing young people to thrive in a future of extraordinary change. Here are two ways to let us know your thoughts:

  1. Click here and complete our 10-minute survey: “Beliefs about education.” AND/OR
  2. Join us at GFSS for relaxed, informal conversations — an event called, “World Café” on Monday, April 28th at 5:00pm (bistro). We want to hear your beliefs and thoughts on these questions (above). Let’s learn what we all want for, and from GFSS. We will provide refreshments and ask that you click here to register advance so we can plan appropriately.
