Dear students and families,
Last Wednesday, Student Council organized a fun EDM Rave dance for all students in our bistro. Yes, it had lasers, glow sticks, and of course, it was loud. Surely, it was a night to remember with fun had by all! We are grateful for to the GFSS band for organizing the concession, ten volunteer supervisors, and an amazing student DJ, Darwin.
Athletics is at a high point this week and next. This past week our Girl’s Soccer team played in Nakusp, and our Golf team challenged in Midway. This coming week, our Junior and Senior Ultimate Frisbee teams will travel to Surrey to compete at Provincials and Golf travels to Creston for the Kootenay Zone Championship. And to top it off, our Mountain Bike Team is also geared up and ripping the trails here and in Rossland. Extra-curricular athletics is important at GFSS and as our season comes to a close, we want to thank all the coaches and volunteers, along with families and spectators for your cheerleading support to our Wolf Pack all year long.
Lastly, I want to send a note of praise and encouragement to the many graduates who are presenting their passions at the upcoming District Scholarship event this coming Wednesday afternoon. As your journey in public education nears its climax, we are excited for you and look forward to sharing the celebrations–proud of the great people that you are becoming.
