Dear students and families,
GFSS has a school plan and our work here is guided by a simple but important question: How can we create a school where students feel safe, well, and inspired to engage deeply in learning that matters to them and their families? I wanted to share a few highlights that show how we are making progress.
We are looking at improved student attendance, fewer incidents of vandalism, less conduct infractions, and a more positive, respectful culture across the school. At the same time, there has been strong participation in clubs, athletics, and school events, increased student voice through leadership and class-based activities, and continued efforts to make our learning spaces more welcoming and engaging. Together, these shifts point to that GFSS is a place where many students feel more connected, supported, and invested in their learning and in one another.
There is still work to be done, and this work is strongest when school and home are aligned. Parents and caregivers play a key role in supporting attendance, reinforcing expectations, and helping us understand what matters most to students and families. As part of our inquiry and improvement process, we invite parents and caregivers to complete the Student Learning Survey linked below. Your feedback directly informs our planning and next steps.
