Dear students and families,
This weekend, we’re proud to cheer on our GFSS Wolves as our basketball teams compete in both home and away tournaments. Thank you to our student-athletes for your commitment, and to our coaches and families for the support that makes these opportunities possible. Whether you’re defending the Wolf Den or representing GFSS on the road, you carry our school’s spirit through your teamwork and resilience. Best of luck, Wolves! Play hard and wear the red and black with pride!
Parents and caregivers are invited to join us an online Zoom information session (Feb 23, 7pm) focused on student course planning. This session will provide an overview of options, timelines, and supports. It is a chance to ask questions and better understand how we guide students in making thoughtful, future-focused choices. We encourage all parents to attend.
I wanted to reshare the ERASE Report It tool. It is an online, anonymous reporting tool where students can report anything they find worrisome or concerning directly to myself (Principal) and our school district’s safe school coordinator. The reporting tool can be accessed at erase.gov.bc.ca or directly at erasereportit.gov.bc.ca. Using the tool is easy and can be done from a mobile device, computer or tablet. There are posters with the QR code in our hallways.
On February 25, GFSS will recognize Pink Shirt Day, a national reminder of the importance of kindness, inclusion, and standing up for one another. Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink as we reflect on how small, everyday actions can help create a school community where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.
