Dear students and families,
As we head into an exciting athletics season at GFSS, we’re proud to see so many students getting involved in outdoor pursuits. This year, we’re fielding three Ultimate teams, a Senior Girls Soccer team, a growing Mountain Biking club, and our Golf team—all great opportunities for students to build skill, teamwork, and school spirit.
The spring sports season will run over the next six weeks and include plenty travel and significant time commitments, making the support of families especially important. We are grateful for everything you do to help make these experiences possible for our students. A sincere thank you as well to our dedicated volunteers: Amanda, Char, Dan, Jamie, Keith, Kent Kristy, Riley, Sam, and Tyler. Your commitment and leadership make a lasting difference for our students.
Lastly, families are warmly invited to join us at Grand Forks Secondary School Peace Pole (12 Street) for a special gathering centered on peace and community. On Thursday, April 16 from 1:40-2:15, we will come together for Sowing the Seeds of Peace, featuring messages of peace from our students and local community leaders. This event is co-organized by the GFSS Global Citizenship Club and the Grand Forks Peace Initiative. This will be a meaningful opportunity for students, staff, and families to reflect on our shared values of human connection and compassion. Selected classes will be participating, and we would be honored to have parents and guardians join us for this event.
