Dear students and families,
On Tuesday GFSS proudly marked National Indigenous Peoples Day with a meaningful celebration that brought our entire community together through song, dance, and a shared meal. Students and staff engaged in learning and reflection while honouring the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. The vibrant performances and opportunity to unite as a school in a round dance, created a strong sense of connection and respect, highlighting the importance of continued learning and reconciliation in Canada.
We were treated to a special concert featuring our GFSS Concert Bands. On Tuesday, our student musicians displayed their talent, teamwork, and dedication across a variety of pieces, providing an engaging and entertaining experience for school.
This coming week, students will be completing their summative assessments on Monday and Tuesday. These days are an important opportunity to demonstrate their learning as we conclude the semester.
Lastly, yearbooks have arrived and are now available for pick-up or purchase through the school office. Be sure to get your copy while supplies last.
