Dear students and families,
As we move further into the spring season, GFSS continues to be filled with energy and opportunity.
Our athletic programs always showcase tremendous dedication and school spirit. Congratulations to our Sr. Girls Soccer team, who represented GFSS exceptionally well at the recent Zone Tournament in Fernie. Their teamwork and resilience made us proud and thank you, coaches and families, who supported the team throughout the event. We are also excited to see our Golf Team, Ultimate, and Mountain Bike Club in action and we appreciate the community and staff sponsors who dedicate their time to making these experiences possible for students.
We would also like to recognize the outstanding work happening in several of our student clubs and leadership groups. Our Warhammer Club always provides students with a creative and collaborative space to strategize, and build friendships through gaming, painting, and storytelling. At the same time, our Yearbook Club has been working hard behind the scenes to capture the memories and moments that define this school year. Yearbooks are now available for pre-purchase for $40. This week, our GFSS Student Council has been gathering student voice and feedback to help inform planning for next year. Creating meaningful opportunities for students to share their perspectives is an important part of building a strong school community, and we appreciate the leadership and initiative all students are showing.
Finally, this upcoming week is our Talent Show. One of the great strengths of GFSS is that we create spaces where students feel safe to share their passions and creativity. The courage to perform in front of peers is significant, and we are looking forward to celebrating the wide range of talents our students bring to the stage.
