Dear students and families,
This week at GFSS was another great reminder of the many ways our students shine both inside and outside the classroom.
One of the highlights of the week was our annual GFSS Talent Show. Students demonstrated incredible courage, creativity, and skill as they took to the stage to perform music, dance, and more. Events like these are important because they give students opportunities to express themselves, support one another, and build confidence in front of their peers.
We were grateful to Lime Creek Logging and Inland Truck and Equipment for their support in bringing a Tigercat simulator for our students to work with. We also had students participating in Fire Suppression Practical Training this week. These hands-on learning opportunities allow students to explore potential career pathways while developing valuable real-world skills.
This weekend will be another busy one for our extracurricular programs. Our Ultimate Frisbee teams are travelling to Surrey to compete at the Provincial Championships. At the same time, our Golf Team will be travelling to Creston for Zones competition. And have you seen our Mountain Bike Club out and about? They are awesome. We wish all of our athletes the best as they compete and represent GFSS.
As always, thank you to the staff, coaches, sponsors, families, and community members who continue to support students in pursuing their interests, passions, and goals. Opportunities like these help make GFSS a vibrant place to learn, grow, and belong.
