Dear students and families,
As we move into a new week at GFSS, there is a lot happening that highlights student leadership, learning, and connection.
On Monday, GFSS will recognize International Women’s Day. Students are encouraged to wear purple in support of gender equity and inclusion, and at lunch our Global Citizenship Club will be leading activities that invite learning, reflection, and conversation. Tuesday brings the District 51 Science Fair to GFSS. This event celebrates curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving, and we are proud to welcome students and their projects from Christina Lake, Perley, and Hutton Elementary into our school. The fair is open to the public at 11:00.
On Wednesday, students will engage in Core Competency self-assessments and Goal Setting using the Circle of Courage framework, focusing on belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity. And on Thursday, Student Council will lead a Spirit Assembly that will feature student initiatives, sports, and leadership at GFSS.
Finally, I want to remind parents and caregivers to please book your appointment for the upcoming Family Conferences if you have not already done so. These conversations are an important opportunity to connect with our educators, celebrate learning, and discuss your child’s next steps together.
Limləmt (thank you in Nsyilxcən)
