Dear students and families,
This past week was full of energy and celebration at GFSS. In academics, athletics, trades, arts, and leadership; it has been wonderful to see students engaging in so many different parts of school life.
One highlight of the week was our recognition of International Women’s Day. The Global Citizenship Club helped mark the occasion for the whole school with activities that celebrated the achievements, leadership, and contributions of women around the world.
We also had students representing GFSS at the District Science Fair this past week. It is always inspiring to see the curiosity and persistence that students bring to scientific inquiry.
On Thursday, Student Council led an assembly celebrating the spirit of GFSS. Students highlighted the wide range of sports teams, arts programs, and extracurricular activities that make our school community vibrant. It was a wonderful reminder that school is about engaging with your passions and discovering new talents. I want to thank our Student Council for their leadership in organizing such a positive and engaging event.
A quick reminder for families that early dismissals and Family Conferences are coming up this week. If you have not already done so, please book an appointment before Mar 16. These conferences are an important opportunity for students, families, and teachers to connect, celebrate progress, and talk about next steps for learning.
