Dear students and families,

This week at GFSS has been one filled with both reflection and school spirit.

Our student-led Remembrance Day ceremony was a powerful and moving tribute. Our students and guests spoke with sincerity, musicians performed beautifully, and the respectful tone throughout the auditorium showed the strength of our community’s compassion. Thank you to everyone who contributed. You represented GFSS with maturity and heart.

In contrast to the solemnity of that day, our Spirit Week, led by the career education class, brought plenty of laughter and colour to the halls! From theme days to friendly competitions, it was great to see so many students and staff showing school pride and connecting across grades.

Exciting news: A special congratulations goes to GFSS Grad (2025), Julia Hugh who received the Governor General’s Academic Medal for Excellence, awarded to the student graduating with the highest academic standing in the school. Julia’s dedication and work ethic have set a wonderful example for all our learners. Well done!

Finally, a big shout out to our GFSS Swimming Team, who are representing us at the Provincial Championships this weekend. We’re cheering you on and wishing you strong races and great memories!

It’s been an inspiring week at GFSS. Thank you to all the students, staff, and families who continue to make our school such a vibrant place to learn and grow.
