Dear students and families,

This fall, our students showed tremendous effort and spirit in volleyball, soccer, and swimming. They competed with heart, supported one another, and represented GFSS with real pride. I’m so grateful to our staff and community coaches for making these opportunities possible and to our families for the encouragement, rides, early/late practices, and steady support behind the scenes.

Swimming Provincials were held in Richmond on November 14-15, and our swimmers delivered an outstanding showing. The 200m girls medley relay team (Lexi-Jo, Peyton, Georgia, and Violet) placed 13th, while Lexi-Jo also finished 12th in the 100m freestyle. Natalie had an exceptional meet, placing 7th in the 50m freestyle, earning a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke, and capturing the provincial title in the 50m breaststroke! Huge congratulations to all our swimmers. Special thanks to coaches Laura Lewis and Amanda Sjoden for their leadership and support all fall.

As we wrap up the season, I’m reminded of the many strengths our students bring to GFSS. Athletics is a key place where those gifts shine. At GFSS every hallway, classroom, studio, and workshop is full of students discovering what they can do. As we continue shaping our school’s vision and mission, these moments reflect the culture of connection, growth, and belonging we’re building together. Thank you for supporting your kids as they explore their talents and gain confidence in who they are becoming.
