Dear students and families,

Our Fine Arts, Metal, Music, and Foods students showcased their creativity at last week’s Celebration of Learning: Practical Arts Gala. Families joined us to explore student projects, met the young creators, and celebrated the hands-on learning that makes GFSS such a joyful place to learn. From handcrafted metal pieces to culinary creations, artwork, and musical performances, the event highlighted the skill, effort, and pride our students bring to their work. Thank-you to our teachers (Ms. Doyle, Ms. Farahmand, Mr. Lindsay, Mr. Theilmann, and Ms. Oh) and community volunteers whose guidance, and enthusiasm made this showcase possible. Your support helped make our Gala into a great event to celebrate student learning.

This fall’s drama season at GFSS we are experiencing something truly special. Our students are pouring energy, heart, and real talent into not one but two memorable productions, each of which are drawing large and enthusiastic audiences. Families, staff, and community members are sharing glowing feedback, noting not only the quality of the performances but the teamwork and sense of belonging that grew behind the scenes. For many students, the stage is a place to build confidence, form friendships, and discover strengths they didn’t know they had. We’re deeply grateful to our Drama Teacher, Mr. DeWynter-Wilke, and the dozens of volunteers who made these productions possible.

We also want to recognize our Student Council, whose creativity and leadership have brought a burst of energy to GFSS. Their four days of fun activities this past week have helped spark connection and school spirit, and we’re excited for the next four they have planned. Their efforts are helping us build the vibrant, welcoming school culture we aspire to be.
