Dear students and families,

June is a great time at GFSS. This past week our Peer Counsellors hosted the incoming grade 7 students from Perley and Hutton Elementary schools. The new students met some staff, toured our facilities and asked good questions about learning and life at the high school. We look forward to welcoming them to our Wolfpack in September.

We also came together as a school for the “Over the Top” event. Dozens of students, alone or in teams of four competed to be this year’s champion. Check out some photos on our Instagram.

Today (Saturday Jun 14) we celebrate our graduating class of 2025 at the arena at 3:00. Graduating from K-12 Public Education is a major life achievement, and we are excited to wish our grads well as they fully move to the next phase of their lives.

This coming week, we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day at GFSS. As an action towards Reconciliation, all students will gather outside to hear inspiring messages, music, and more to enrich their education and grow all of our awareness of the rich culture and history of Indigenous People.

Lastly, we are excited to announce that the Blue Spades are this years’ student- house-team champions. All year, student council has been organizing fun events such as dances, assemblies, theme days, input forums, beautifications, and more fun lunch events. Thank you, students and staff for participating and helping make GFSS a fun place to be.
