Dear students and families,
Take Your Kid to Work Day was a wonderful success for our Grade 9s. Students returned to GFSS with new stories, insights, and excitement about their futures. Seeing real workplaces, meeting teams, and trying out hands-on tasks helps students connect what they’re learning now to the careers and communities they may one day shape. This experience strengthens our school’s mission to prepare students for lives of purpose, contribution, and growth. A heartfelt thank-you to the mentors, parents, guardians, and especially the workplaces and businesses that generously welcomed our students.
On Monday, GFSS gathers in student-led assemblies to remember those who have sacrificed their lives in the service of our nation in the Canadian Armed Forces. Later in the week, students are organizing a number of school spirit activities. When we gather together in remembrance or in celebration we strengthen our connections with one another and make GFSS stronger.
